What was once a popular spot for boating, the former thermal waters of Hazelwood Pondage still look great, and looks very different without the Hazelwood Power station in the background.
If you are out Yinnar way over the next couple of weeks there is a wonderful Sculpture exhibition on display, and it is FREE! Check inside the Arc Gallery and along the main street and around corners you will find some very clever and exciting sculptures. Gippsland Life Magazine will be featuring this event in the Winter Edition 63. All photos by Life In Frames.
Today held in splendid warm and sunny weather was the Tinamba Food and Wine Festival. Massive crowd in attendance. Photos by Doug Pell.
Lyrebird walk at Mirboo North is always a pleasant bush walk. On this day, I took the river walk which is a simple but easy walk and it is nice just to listen to the sounds of the bush and the ripples of the river. #lyrebirdwalk #mirboonorth #visitsouthgippsland #djpphotography
Quarry Reserve is located a couple of kms from Briagolong. Great spot for temporary caravanning and camping. Has great facilities and plenty to see, explore and do. #quarryreserve #themiddleofeverywhere #djpphotography
When taking photos, I find some times it is best when the sun is not out, particularly at Blue Pool. Blue Pool is located approximately 7km from Briagolong, great for camping, touring, and has a wonderful swimming pool. #bluepool #themiddleofeverywhere #djpellphotography
And the show goes on, last week visited Briagolong which is not far from Stratford. Fairly quiet during the week, but comes alive at weekends. #dougpellphotography #themiddleofeverywhere #gippslandlifemagazine
Today marks the end of my ownership of Gippsland Life Magazine. Sixteen years has now come to an end. The new owner is Melissa Cane and she will continue on and take Gippsland Life Magazine to a fabulous new level. I will be still involved with the photography within the magazine. I have mixed emotions with the changeover, but I am immensely proud of what Gippsland Life Magazine, has achieved since its beginning back in 2009. To all of my wonderful clients, the writers, editorial staff, photographers, designers, printers, sales people that have been involved along the journey, I thank you all. To all of our readers thank you for supporting Gippsland Life Magazine and I can promise that the magazine will continue along as it always does in promoting the best region in Victoria.
Photos by Doug Pell at NOOJ PUB - Noojee Hotel, with the running of another successful Charity Duck Race. This event is the brainchild of Noojee Pub owners Simon and Rosie Duck. Big crowds, great weather, had the lot.
Another bush walk, this time a re-visit to the Waratah bush walk. A simple stroll that takes you to views of Waratah Bay, and a nice sunset. #waratah #walkswithdoug #djphotography #visitsouthgippsland

Called into Boolarra, they are gearing up for the Boolarra Folk Festival in March.

Out and about in East Gippsland, a pleasant 26c in Omeo. Omeo is a beautiful town, steeped in gold history, and is located near the foothills of Dinner Plain and Mt Hotham. Approx one hour drive from Bairnsdale. #visitomeo #omeo #alpinecountry #visiteastgippsland #djpphotography
On the way to Omeo is the delightful town of Swifts Creek. Call in to the general store ran by Jason Darby, and mention you know William Charles, alias Billy Gommers. #swiftscreek #swiftscreekgeneralstore #visitswiftscreek #cassilis #tambovalleycup
The ever changing face at Inverloch, call it what you like, but the beach is getting that little bit closer to the road.

I attended the very worthwhile protest at Inverloch for Save Our Beach. If action is not taken by either the State and Federal Govts immediately, Inverloch will continue to be under serious threat of not only losing the sand, but the surf lifesaving club is also under serious threat along with the road and houses opposite the beach. It was noted that the standing member for Bass, which Inverloch is in the electorate of Jordan Crugnale, was not in attendance today. Perhaps there were no votes for her today.

4. The meeting was professionally organised by speaker Alan Brown. His passion for the Bass Coast is incredible. Well done Alan!
5. Paul Cross from the Inverloch Foreshore Action Group spoke with integrity at the rally.
6. Liberal candidate for the Federal seat of Monash Mary Aldred with Alan Brown.
7. Olympic legend and Inverloch resident, Drew Ginn, was winning further gold for his hometown.
8. Inverloch Surf Lifesaving Club President Glenn Arnold.
9. Inverloch Tourism Association President Glen Morris.
10. The new State Liberal Leader, Brad Battin, promised to take the fight to save the Inverloch beach to the current Government while in opposition and, if elected, would prioritise Inverloch.
Photos taken yesterday at the Bass Coast Show held in very warm conditions at Wonthaggi. Big crowd in attendance and plenty to see and do for families and kids. #basscoastshow #wonthaggi #dougpellphotography

Every now and then when you do the Hoddle Mountain Walk you are in for a treat and that was the case late yesterday afternoon. 4 Wedge Tailed Eagles put on a show in gusty winds, these guys move like grease lightning, they are fast and aerobatic.
Am too old for parties, so I prefer to take photos. Here are my photos from last night at Cutlers Beach Wonthaggi. #cutlersbeach #wonthaggi #visitbasscoast #walkswithdoug #dougpellphotography
